How to become a specialist in tech jobs:

  1. you have to do something with a tool you don’t know

  2. You hate it instantly

  3. Turns out this tool is driving you mad

  4. You spend 2 weeks fixing this particular tool and learning trough pain

  5. You finally made it work

  6. Congrats, now you are a specialist on something you hate.

@borderdoggo No joke, this is how I became the "specialist" at my company for Angular, iOS phone design/what they can do, Xamarin, Azure API Management portal, and iOS Xamarin builds.

My faviroute of this is iOS, because I do not use, and have never used, iOS phones.

@borderdoggo Wiat are they iOS phones or Apple phones?

See how little I know

@borderdoggo Oh god, this is me and our reporting engine at work.. :p

@borderdoggo for me, this was debugging enterprise SAML2 integrations.

@borderdoggo @smallsees I have made an entire career doing this and really don’t know how to feel about that.

@sng @borderdoggo I think there is a few of us here that could say the same.
